TIPS ON CARING FOR YOUR FINE JEWELLERY

CARING FOR DIAMOND JEWELLERY

THINGS TO AVOID

Remove or avoid wearing your jewellery while performing sports activities, cleaning or gardening to protect it from impact, which may cause damage like scratching or chipping, and exposure to harmful conditions. Sand from the beach may also be abrasive to the surface or the metal of your piece.

MAINTENANCE

Sometimes oil and perspiration from touching the surface of the stone can create a cloud, or dirty appearance. To clean your diamond jewellery at home, use warm, soapy water and a soft brush to remove dirt or build up.

We recommend occasionally checking the metal settings in your piece to ensure all stones remain secured.

STORING YOUR JEWELLERY

Always store your pieces individually in a box or a soft pouch to avoid contact scratches.

CARING FOR GEMSTONE JEWELLERY

THINGS TO AVOID

Perfume, sprays, or lotions may tarnish or damage your jewellery surfaces including: metals, gemstones and especially pearls.

Do not wear gemstone jewellery in chlorinated swimming pools or in the ocean. Chemicals in the water can damage your gemstone or jewellery piece.

Keep your gemstone jewellery away from direct sunlight and heat.

MAINTENANCE

For home maintenance of your gemstone jewellery piece, use a soft, non-abrasive cloth to gently wipe the surface clean to remove oil and perspiration from touching the surface of the stone.

Be very careful when cleaning softer stones so they do not get scratched.

Certain gemstones are suited to specific cleaning methods. Consult with a specialist before cleaning your gemstone jewellery with ultrasonic or steam cleaning.
